SASKATOON—Saskatchewan First Nations are bracing the impact the Human Rights Act once it comes into force on reserves on June. 19.

The Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations believes the Act will have an impact on everything from Treaty rights to First Nations governments.

The federation is planning to hold a conference Monday on the issue.

Under the Act, those who feel mistreated on a reserve will now be able to file complaints and have them heard by an independent panel.
