Yukon government vows to improve jail conditions for inmates struggling with mental health issues

 

Almost four years after a group of inmates launched human rights complaints against a correctional centre in Whitehorse, the Yukon government is now pledging to improve conditions for inmates with mental health issues.

That’s according to a new settlement agreement the Yukon government has signed with the territory’s human rights commission.
