Family of Delaine Copenace still seeking answers two years after death

APTN News
It was a grim anniversary for Delaine Copenace’s family on Friday.

Two years after the 16-year-old’s body was found, her mother, Anita Ross, held a “Justice for Delaine” rally in Kenora, Ont.

Dozens of people showed up at the Knox United Church just north of where she was found.

Delaine went missing during an outing with friends on Feb. 28, 2016.

She was found almost a month later in Lake of the Woods near Kenora.

According to the Ontario coroner, Delaine drowned. There was no evidence of foul play.

But that doesn’t sit well with Anita.

“I would bet my life on it, I know something happened to my daughter,” she said. “She wasn’t alone that night.”
