Oil money allowing Alberta First Nation to break free of Ottawa

In November, the Fraser Institute released a study that shows First Nation’s across Canada are generating billions of dollars of their own revenue.

And by doing so becoming less dependent on federal money.

Alberta’s Fort McKay claims to be one such success story.

Chief Jim Boucher says investments in oil is the reason.

  3. We know the future of oil is not promising.but is a stepping stone for. Developing alternative fuels that will be sustainable for future generations should be the goal.mr boucher should be given the order of canada for what he has done for leaders of first nation communities

About time this was there land to begin with the government constantly lies about treaty agreement (were talking late 1800’s ) it was there land before Columbus came here all the resources on this rich land and now with Climate change oh now the Natives can finally get there way … Then what blame there corruption on us
