Mandate for Muskrat Falls inquiry incomplete says former bureaucrat

The public inquiry into the Muskrat Falls hydroelectric dam in Labrador has drawn a lot of criticism since it was announced in November.

The inquiry is looking at the financial issues facing the project – mainly why the cost of the project has doubled to $12.7 billion.

A group of people gathered in St. John’s, Newfoundland this week to share their concerns.

    Again, omitted information that can make a difference – I suggested using the small dam in Nain, Nunatsiavut as an example of the future of MF Hydro dam. The harm to ground, fish, land and effects of the sand on the walls of Churchill river upstream and below. Also the damage sand can cause to the generating turbines of the generating plant there.
