On Tuesday, APTN News brought you the stories of people who have been targetted by the Canada Revenue Agency over what the government says are unpaid taxes.

They worked for a temp company called OI Leasing that is situated in Six Nations in Ontario.

The company hired employees who worked tax-free because the main office was on a reserve.

But the government doesn’t see it that way and now thousands of people owe tens of thousands of dollars in back-taxes.

Here’s an update on what is happening with the case.

I was one of the affected people of CRA’s harassment. As a result I had to claim personal bankruptcy almost two years ago. They claimed I owed them almost $700,000 in tax, penalties and interest. I had been lobbying the AFN and Ministers to help us get a remission order with no success. Chief Isadore Day was the only one who has stepped up to the plate. I want this settled so I can get on with my life.
