This just shows that Metis should be dealing with the Federal government when asserting our rights. This has been won in the recent court ruling. We should aim to stop being “accommodated” by the provinces and their harvesting frameworks. The provinces do not respect our rights; they dictate the requirements which Metis have to follow in order to gain access to our harvesting rights i.e you must have a harvesting certificate, but you also have to have a provincial hunting license, safety course, PAL, etc, (depending on the province). We are Federal now, Provinces need to step back.
