RCMP find no crimes committed with men switched at birth in Norway House

APTN National News

The RCMP in Manitoba say it has wrapped up its investigation into men switched at birth at the Norway House Indian Hospital and found no criminal wrongdoing.

Investigators reviewed medical records and interview family and hospital employees but couldn’t find evidence it was criminal.

DNA testing confirmed last year two men were switched at birth at the hospital in 1975.

Tests showed Leon Swanson is the biological son of the woman who raised David Tait Jr.

It was the second case of a mix-up at the hospital in the same year.

Tests last November showed Luke Monias and Norman Barkman of nearby Garden Hill were also switched at birth.

Health Canada is also conducting an investigation.
