It started with rain but ended with energy and a bang.

The 2017 North American Indigenous Games opening ceremonies were held in Toronto Sunday night.

5,000 athletes from across Turtle Island will compete in the week long games.

Last night, speeches were read, and performers did their thing to get athletes going- including Taboo, one of the founders of the Black Eyed Peas.

“There’s someone just like them that actually followed their dreams,” said Taboo, “So don’t extinguish your dreams because they do come true.
