Not long after Barbara Kentner was hit by a trailer in January, doctors delivered the bad news.
She would not survive for long.
The Anishinawbee mother was walking along a street in Thunder Bay when she was hit by a trailer hitch thrown by a man in a passing car.
She died July 4.
The family believes the trailer hitch is what killed her.
“It hurts because my sister would still be alive and now I am thinking about it,” said Melissa Kentner, Barbara Kentner’s sister. “It hurts. Now I have to lay my baby down to rest. She is with my mom and day now, she shouldn’t be. She is leaving her 16-year-old daughter.”
Jorge met with the family to talk about her life as they prepare to say goodbye.
My heart goes out to Ms. Kentner’s family. I am ashamed to be a white Canadian today. May the people responsible be brought to severe justice.
