A First Nations basketball phenomenon ranked number one in Canada for three on three hoops is hoping the 2020 summer Olympic games will be golden.

Michael Linklater has won a number of national titles and trophies when he played for the University of Saskatchewan Huskies – and he was the first, First Nation player ever to hoist the University championship trophy.

The game Linklater is playing right now is three on three – a game that will be featured at the next summer games.

“I think it’s every athlete’s dream to play in the Olympics representing their country,” said Linklater. “And since I was a child it was something that I wanted to do. But growing up and playing five on five it’s a little more difficult to crack that roster – and for this to be a possibility for three on three that we’ve been so successful at you know it really gives us a glimmer of hope.”
