In the wide world of sports, there is no doubt that mixed martial arts, better known as MMA fighting, is one of the toughest and brutal events to watch.

And this past weekend in British Columbia, a fighter from the Namg’is First Nation showed he has what it takes to compete with the best – and made history.

“I first got interested watching it on tv and I eventually got into competing to get away from binge drinking and like hanging out on the streets and gettin up to no good.”
