The family of Tiffany Morrison is calling for people to support the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.
Melanie Morrison is the sister of the 24-year-old who was found dead in her community of Kahnawake more than a decade ago.
“They’re listening to when families are speaking up, the communication issue, that’s been stepped up, the way that they handled the meeting, in the Yukon was done really well, so it gives hope that they’ve been listening to what we’ve been suggesting,” said Morrison.
The community held a walk in her honour Sunday – see video.
The inquiry has come under fire for appearing to be disorganized and some have criticized it for not community with families.
It held three days of hearings in Whitehorse. No new dates are scheduled.
