Police fatally shoot suspect after stabbing spree kills 3 in Nunavik

Four people are dead and two critically injured after a stabbing spree early Saturday morning in Akulivik, an Inuit community of 600 in Nunavik, Que., 1,700km northwest of Montreal.

According a press release by Quebec’s Independent Investigation Bureau, a 19-year-old entered three different residences and allegedly fatally stabbed three people, including a child, 10.

The suspect was then shot to death after trying to enter a fourth residence by the local police force.

The press release said police shot the suspect once and then again the suspect approached the police with a knife.

An eight-person team from the Independent Investigation Bureau is heading to investigate the matter.

The Kativik regional police identified the suspect as Illutak Anautak.

    Illutak my brother from our heart to heart , he was too nice person and then boom! He exploded one day and it changed everything 🙁 he was always like a brother to me , wow I never expected to find out of what Happened , my condolences goes out to his family and all my family <3
