National #MMIW Inquiry hearings in Whitehorse hear from families at first public hearing

APTN National News
After decades of lobbying for a National Inquiry into the disproportional number of Indigenous women who are murdered or go missing, the first public hearing was held Tuesday in Whitehorse.

A number of families told about their loved ones, and how they died.

They are stories that the commissioners are expected to hear many times again before they wrap up their work.

I’m sad for the ones who have lost love ones. It’s a shame this shouldn’t have happened to any communities in anyway. My thoughts and prayers go into to the families of that have lost a loved one like a auntie, daughter, mother. There has been to much no old shed in all of our communities.
