Evicted Warrior says there needs to be protections for tenants and landlords on reserve

A well known Mi’kmaq warrior says there needs to be more protections for landlords and tenants on reserve.

Suzanne Patles received an eviction notice in early April forcing her out of her apartment and off her community.

Provincial regulations don’t apply on First Nations and the gap can leave people homeless.

Shameful of the landlord to evict her without a place to go, unbelievably that he is a MiqMaw.

I believe in fair judgement and in this case that didn’t apply to her, Its is a shame the tentants in Native communities have no protection from Landlords and Band Council Polices in regards to placement.. A mother and her children are homeless.

Very shameful to evict your own people, work with them, don’t shun them.
