For decades, the community of Grassy Narrows in northwestern Ontario has been battling mercury contamination on their land, in their water and food sources.

According to band members and politicians, its time the federal government step up their game.

    It certainly is time that the Governments of Canada and Ontario compensate the people of Grassy Narrows for the awful damage done to their water, their health, and their social well-being. I was shocked by the damage to the fine Ojibway people I met at the time the mercury poisoning scandal was exposed, a long time ago.
