Tensions rise in Standing Rock as eviction date nears

People near Standing Rock Sioux territory have less than 24 hours to leave the Oceti Sakowin camp that was the hub of the protest against the Dakota Access pipeline project.

The deadline is set for Wednesday.

It’s not clear whether the Morton County Sheriff’s department will forcibly remove the people still at the camp.

But if past practice is any indication, things could get tense on Wednesday.
