The world’s largest annual meeting of activists is underway on Mohawk Territory.

On Tuesday, thousands were welcomed to the Indigenous island also known as Montreal, with a traditional Mohawk thanksgiving address.

Indigenous participation in the world social forum isn’t merely symbolic.
