NAPS officers ready to strike over shortage of officers, burnout rate

NAPS officers say they’re being shortchanged compared to other police forces.

Frustrated police officers working with the Nishnawbe Aski police service in northern Ontario voted to strike over poor working conditions.

Another sore point is they are paid much less than Ontario Provincial Police officers.

Negotiations are ongoing.

If the officers walk off the job, the OPP will take over.

But communities really want their own to police the land.
