Nunavut activists say Canada’s expansion of Nutrition North program doesn’t fix core issues

Indigenous Affairs Minister Carolyn Bennett criticised the program’s shortcomings when she was an opposition critic, but none of those issues have been fixed

This week, the federal government did what they promised they’d do.

They expanded the Nutrition North subsidy to include 37 more communities.

But the group that helped bring the problems with Nutrition North into the public eye say they feel the Liberals are taking advantage of their hard work, and that Nunavut has nothing to show for it.
