Luke Parnell is a passionate sculptor.
Originally from the Haida and Nisga’a cultures, he was invited to be an Artist in Residence at the Stewart Hill Art Gallery in Pointe-Claire, near Montreal.
During his six-week residency, he created a 7-foot tall totem pole as a symbol of his heritage. But the totem pole is only part of the project.
Cutting it in half, and burning a piece, is the final touch.
