Government announces new legislation to protect transgendered Canadians

It’s not often that a policy announcement brings on a celebration.

But that’s just what happened today on Parliament Hill as Justice Minister Jody Wilson Raybould announced new protections for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community .

People who were present say it is an historic day.
