Residential school survivors fear federal leaders have forgotten about them

Residential school survivors in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia are welcoming the arrival of the Witness Blanket, an art installation that captures the history of residential schools in Canada.

While survivors are praising the project, they’re also looking to the future.

And they’re concerned that the federal leaders on the campaign trail are mostly silent about the 94 recommendations issued by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

As APTN’s Trina Roache reports, they fear the advice of the TRC will be forgotten.
