Waswanipi trap-lines excluded from protected land deal in Quebec

Usually an agreement to protect 9,000 square kilometres of land would be heralded as a victory.

But for the James Bay Cree of Quebec, there’s been division in the ranks about a recent agreement.

The Waswanipi First Nation is upset that its requests were mostly left out, while other Cree communities are protected.
