Kanehsatake remembers the Mohawk resistance a quarter century ago

The resistance of the Mohawk people at Kanehsatake known as the Oka crisis was commemorated Saturday in the community.

25 year ago the community stood up to the town of Oka, Quebec provincial police and eventually the Canadian army over plans to build a golf course on sacred land on their territory

What ensued was a 78 day stand off that made news around the world.

But as Danielle Rochette reports, no much has changed for the community since then.
