In the pines: Going back 25 years to the Mohawk resistance at Kanehsatake

APTN National News
25 years ago, shots rang out on the Mohawk territory of Kanehsatake and Indigenous resistance in Canada would never be the same.

The Mohawk resistance of 1990 lasted 78 days, and over the course of this summer, APTN National News will be looking back on the key dates of the so called Oka crisis in the words of the people who were there.

APTN’s Tom Fennario starts with The Mohawks of Kanehsatake, the SQ and the start of a long hot summer.
