Inquiry needed in deaths of Indigenous children in welfare system

The liberal leader of Alberta is calling on the prime minister to launch an inquiry into the deaths of Aboriginal children in the child welfare system.

This comes days after a media report revealed 145 children died while in the government’s care since 1999.
