OTTAWA–Suspended Senator Patrick Brazeau says he was appointed to the Red Chamber to support Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s “Aboriginal agenda.”

Brazeau fired off a flurry of messages on Twitter Friday morning primarily asking several television networks, including APTN, for a job.

Brazeau also tweeted that he planned to write a book about his experience as a Senator, claiming he had lots of “inside info.” Brazeau tweeted that the book would be out before the 2015 election.

Brazeau tweeted that chapter two of his planned book would delve into his role supporting the Harper government’s Aboriginal agenda.

“On Dec. 16, 2008, PM Stephen Harper offered me a Senate seat to support his ‘Aboriginal Agenda,'” tweeted Brazeau. “I said yes. I made a mistake…That’s my 2nd chapter of my upcoming book.”

Brazeau also again apologized for “his mistake” in believing Harper.

“I made a mistake b/c I believed him and he didn’t do anything for FN’s people except for empty words. I apologize! (Sic),” tweeted Brazeau.

The Prime Minister’s Office did not immediately return a request for comment.

Brazeau previously apologized on a political television talk show shortly before he was suspended by the Conservative-controlled Senate.

He has claimed he parroted PMO talking points on First Nations issues. Brazeau mocked and criticized Attawapiskat Chief Theresa Spence during her fast along with the Idle No More movement.

Brazeau was a rabid partisan for the Conservative cause on First Nations issues before his political downfall which came after Gatineau police were called to his rented home last winter. He was found locked in one of the bedrooms.

Brazeau is now facing trial on sexual assault and assault charges. His next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 14, 2014.

Brazeau was kicked out of the Conservative caucus following his arrest.

The Senator of Algonquin descent was also caught up in the Senate housing and expense scandal. Brazeau claimed his father’s home in Maniwaki, Que., as his primary residence even though he spent most of his time in the Ottawa region.

Brazeau has said that the rules are vague and that he’s been railroaded by an unfair process.

  1. Chris A Hooymans says:

Just the kind of puppet Fox news is looking for LOL

  2. I hope members of First Nations support Brazeau with his attempts at healing and don’t resort to attacking him for what he did. He has more damaging information to be used AGAINST harper and the conservative party that would be beneficial to all First Nations.
