A northern Manitoba chief has been sued by the HudBay Mining Company for Idle No More protests and blockades.

Mathias Colomb Cree Nation Chief Arlen Dumas says he received a notice to keep off  parts of his traditional territory last week. There’s a court hearing scheduled for Wednesday and HudBay wants an injunction to prevent future protests.

He now has the support of other leadership and Idle No More supporters who say they want to meet with the province of Manitoba and HudBay.

APTN National News reporter Shaneen Robinson has the story.
