Samson Cree block highway in Alberta

Samson Cree Nation members in Alberta staged a peaceful blockade Wednesday of a major highway running through their community just an hour outside of Edmonton.

Organizers said they wanted to show solidarity with the Idle No More movement and Attawapiskat First Nation Chief Theresa Spence’s hunger strike in Ottawa that began Tuesday.
