New friendship centre pushed in Montreal

On Tuesday night, the Montreal Native Community Development Centre had its inaugural general meeting to present its proposal for the founding of a new Aboriginal community centre.

On Tuesday night, the Montreal Native Community Development Centre had its inaugural general meeting to present its proposal for the founding of a new Aboriginal community centre.

But the project is not without controversy. In order to get funding for their start-up centre, they’ve had to dip into resources that were once set aside for Montreal’s existing Native friendship centre.

Does Montreal need two friendship centres? And if so, are there enough resources for both?
