In Manitoba, the chief medical examiner has called an inquest into the death of a two month-old baby girl.

The inquest will look into the state of health care in northern Manitoba. Drianna Ross’ parents were devastated when she died on Nov. 26.

An autopsy indicated she died from pneumonia.

At the time, Manitoba’s grand chiefs said Drianna’s death was related to the lack of proper care available in northern communities.

The province’s chief medical examiner will look into the quality of care in God’s Lake Narrows and other community nursing stations as well as the circumstances surrounding Drianna’s death.
