End of National Aboriginal Health Organization "a surprise", says CEO

The National Aboriginal Health Organization has announced that its funding was ended in the 2012 federal budget, and that it will be closing its doors on June 30th, 2012.

The organization has conducted over $60 million worth of research on the health of Aboriginal peoples in Canada over its 12-year existence, and will be negotiating with universities or health research instutitions to “take over the care of these invaluable intellectual holdings”, it said in a statement.

Simon Brascoupe, CEO of NAHO, joins anchor Michael Hutchinson to talk about the work done by the organization and what the next two months will look like for NAHO’s employees.
