Ottawa facing second lawsuit over Lower Churchill approval

The federal government is now facing at least two lawsuits over the Lower Churchill Hydro Development project in central Labrador.

The Sierra Club has stated that it will take Ottawa to court over the six-billion-dollar project. Now NunatuKavut, which represents the Metis population of Labrador, is saying that it will file suit as well.

Chris Montague, president of NunatuKavut, says that the federal government has failed to fulfill their duty to consult.
