Defence Minister Peter MacKay says a review may be on the horizon on how ground search crews communicate with the military.

MacKay was once again defending the armed forces and its role in the search for Burton Winters, 14.

MacKay, at a news conference Monday in Halifax, responded to more questions about the military’s role in searching for the teen who was found dead after a four day search about 20 kilometres from his community of Makkovik, Labrador.

There are still questions over why the military search and rescue helicopter didn’t arrive on the scene sooner.

MacKay says the military followed its set of guidelines.
