Drivers in the Northwest Territories will now be breaking the law if they use their cell phones while driving.

Drivers in the Northwest Territories will now be breaking the law if they use their cell phones while driving.

As of January 1, the territory became the latest jurisdiction to ban the use of hand held devices while driving.

Anyone caught using things like a cell phone or an MP3 player while behind the wheel will face $100 fine and lose three demerit points.
