A small school in the Northwest Territories has been without running water or a proper washroom for the last eight years.

That’s according to one MLA who feels that enough is enough.

The school in question is in Colville Lake, a remote fly-in community of about 130 residents.

Kids attend school in two buildings, both equipped with slop pails in instead of regular toilets.

The MLA for the region, Norman Yakeleya, recently brought up the matter in NWT’s legislative assembly.

He called the situation unacceptable and compared the school to an episode of the television series, Hoarders.
