‘Earl won’t be there’

Earl Cook was in many ways an ordinary young man.

Originally from the rural community of Cross Lake, Manitoba, he grew up in foster homes and was plagued by life-long struggles.

Now his death from cancer at the age of 23 is being felt from coast to coast.

And in the NHL, which become like a second family, tonight Cook is being warmly remembered as a courageous man who faced his challenges with courage and humour.

APTN National News reporter Tiar Wilson has the story of an extraordinary life.
