‘Don’t tell anyone you’re Indian, pretend you’re just Chinese, or life will be too hard’

A Yukon First Nation theater group is premiering a new play this week in Whitehorse.

Cafe Daughter is a one-woman memory play inspired by a true story.

It tells the tale of a Chinese-Cree girl growing up in rural Saskatchewan in the 1950s and 1960s.
