A legendary Canadian musician is getting some major recognition.

Robbie Robertson is being inducted into the Canadian songwriters hall of fame.

Robertson was born in Toronto to a Jewish father and a Mohawk mother.

He credits his exposure to music to his time at Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation.

Robertson has performed or written music for some of the world’s biggest acts including Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton.

He’s also scored music for many movies, especially for director Martin Scorsese.

The award ceremony is scheduled for April 2 in Toronto.
