  1. Thinkoutloud111, they paid out $9 million of the total $118 million settlement. That leaves them $109 million dollars for investment. I’m happy they paid out a small portion of that money, it’ll bring some Christmas joy to them. But, I would hope though that they spend the other $109 million wisely.nHappy.

  2. I am disheartened that a community chose to waste this money by small payouts– what is $1000.00? That is little more then a minor paycheck. The same thing was decided in many areas and by many people with the residential schools. Does anyone not have any thought for investment? The future? That money could have purchased assets which would provide pay checks for the rest of time, but obviously this Chief did not have the power to influence, and the population obviously was lacking forethought. Are little wal mart Christmas presents really worth it? nDisappointed.
