There’s an outcry from Aboriginal leaders that racism is an issue within the justice system in British Columbia’s interior.

A few weeks ago a video tape surfaced that called into question the behaviour of RCMP officers in Williams Lake, B.C., which sits about 540 kilometres northeast of Vancouver.

There are also allegations that First Nations people arrested on suspicion of crimes are rarely granted bail and instead put into remand where they can spend months in jail before facing a judge.

APTN National News reporter Rob Smith delves into the issue.
